Museum Story

With the guidance of Chinese Consolidated Benevolent Association elders, a dedicated group of volunteers created the CCBA museum in order to share the rich and diversified history of the Chinese experience here in Oregon with our neighbors. The museum resides on the uppermost fourth floor of the historic CCBA building, which was built in 1911 by the local Chinese merchants and community and is listed on the National Historic Register.

The CCBA is a nonprofit organization and relies on the volunteer support of our members and visitors to our museum; although the museum does not require an admission fee, we do ask that you please consider a donation to help raise the necessary funds needed to maintain the museum, and to continue sharing the history of the Chinese community here in Portland, as well as throughout Oregon, with others.

As the museum is an all-volunteer effort without paid staff, it does not operate on set hours, but by appointment only. Should your group wish to visit the Museum, please click here to contact us.
